Overview

Job Title: Paraprofessional- ESE - Scope: Assist certified personnel in achieving instructional goals through participation in curricular activities and supervision of students.

Qualifications - Paraprofessional I (Grade 18)

• Education and relevant experience requirements: Required: ° High school diploma or equivalent required. ° Minimum of 60 semester hours from an accredited educational institution with at least 30 semester hours in general education core curriculum and/or child development and education or successful completion of the parapro test with a score of 457 or higher. ° Experience working with children with disabilities. ° Satisfactory completion of verbal de-escalation required within 90 days of appointment and maintained annually.° Separate class placement and 1:1 positions - satisfactory completion of CPI training required within 90 days of appointment and maintained annually.

Qualifications - Paraprofessional II (Grade 19)

• Education and relevant experience requirements: Required: ° Associate’s degree or higher from an accredited educational institution required. ° Experience working with children with disabilities. ° Satisfactory completion of verbal de-escalation required within 90 days of appointment and maintained annually.

Certifications/Licenses

• Required: Valid state driver’s license.
