Job Summary

Canterbury School is seeking a dynamic, talented, and experienced mathematics teacher to join our high school faculty on a part-time basis. This position is responsible for teaching two sections of AP Calculus AB and one section of AP Calculus BC.

Responsibilities

• Provide excellent instruction in AP Calculus AB and AP Calculus BC.
• Design and implement engaging lessons that develop conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, mathematical reasoning, and effective problem-solving skills.
• Prepare students thoroughly for the AP Calculus AB and BC examinations while fostering intellectual curiosity and an appreciation for mathematics beyond the test.
• Create a nurturing, challenging, and supportive classroom environment grounded in mutual respect and high expectations.
• Assess student learning regularly and provide timely, constructive feedback.
• Monitor and communicate student progress, partnering with students, families, colleagues, and administrators when additional support is needed.
• Provide appropriate assistance to students outside scheduled class time.
• Collaborate with members of the mathematics department on curriculum, instruction, assessment, and student support.
• Participate in relevant faculty meetings and professional-development opportunities as appropriate for the position.

Availability

Start Date: As soon as possible. Availability to begin immediately is highly desired.
