Job Title: Custodian ------------------------- - Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent. - Preferred Qualifications: One (1) year of related experience. - Relevant Work Experience or Education: May be substituted to satisfy minimum qualifications. - Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: - • Clear and concise oral and written communication skills; - • Organizational and management skills; - • Knowledge of general policies and procedures for the functional area of assignment; - • Knowledge of HIPAA, Public Records, Sunshine Law,FERPA, and other laws/regulations related to student and employee privacy, public information, and records retention; - • Knowledge of and experience with industry-standard equipment, materials, chemicals, practices, computers, and applications. - • Ability to work with equipment and chemicals commonly used in custodial work. - • Ability to professionally and effectively respond to customer needs and requests for service or assistance. ------------------------- - Responsibilities: - • Perform a variety of duties involving cleaning, minor repairs, lawn care, and other routine cleaning procedures (i.e., light painting, removal of graffiti). - • Clean rooms, hallways, lobbies, lounges, restrooms, elevators, offices, stairways, and other areas. - • Sweep, mop, and scrub; wax, buff, and strip wax from floors; - • Vacuum and shampoo carpets; - • Dust/polish furniture; - • Remove mildew; - • Replace supplies as directed. - • Dispose of wastepaper, facilitate recycling activities, remove gum, wash windows/desks, clean whiteboards, and wash outside areas as needed. - • In kitchen areas, clean air conditioning vents; ductwork; fans on walls, ceilings, coolers, and freezers; lights and enclosures in exhaust hoods, coolers, freezers, warmers, and ceilings; - • Exposed motors and wires on backs of ovens; replace bulbs when needed. ------------------------- - Additional Job Information: - • $2, 16.43, 8 hours, 255 days - Compensation may increase based on relevant education and experience.*
