Requirements

Education and Experience Physical Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in exercise science or physical education-related fields required.
• Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) preferred
• American Red Cross CPR/AED/First Aid certification.
• Standing/sitting for long periods of time.
• Bending, lifting, pushing, kneeling, crouching, crawling, stooping.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to reach at and above shoulder height to access higher areas of equipment, etc.
• Must be capable of adapting to frequent changes in position throughout the workday.
• Hearing and speaking to exchange information in person or on the telephone.
• Use of hands and fingers for manipulation, and using computer keyboard, educational tools, play equipment, and perform first aid and CPR.
• Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, and depth perception.

Position Overview and Responsibilities

A part-time, hourly employee will serve as a member of our strength and conditioning program under the direction of the strength and conditioning coordinator. This is a 10-month position with daily hours from 6 to 8 am and 3 to 5 pm.
• Implement training programs for teams, groups, and individuals.
• Provide education on healthy habits and decision-making related to exercise and nutrition.
• Support general upkeep of the fitness center.
• Help prepare the fitness center for daily lifts and assist in resetting the space following workouts.
• Be an active, engaged, and supportive coach.
• Contribute to strength and conditioning team learning and planning.
