Job Summary

The Physical Education Teacher will plan, implement, and evaluate programs to foster physical activity, sportsmanship, and overall wellness in students. The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for physical education, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse student populations.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, implement, and evaluate programs to promote physical activity and sportsmanship among students
• Create and maintain a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes student engagement and motivation
• Develop and implement lesson plans that align with state standards and incorporate technology when appropriate
• Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure student success
• Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement school-wide physical education programs
• Maintain accurate records of student progress and assessment data
• Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices and research-based methods

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or related field
• State teaching certification in Physical Education
• 2+ years of experience in physical education, preferably at the elementary level
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work with diverse student populations
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Ability to maintain accurate records and assessment data

Working Conditions

• Work in a fast-paced school environment with frequent interactions with students, parents, and colleagues
• May be required to lift up to 50 pounds and move equipment as needed
• May be required to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends

Salary Scale

• $45,000 - $65,000 per year (dependent on experience)
