Job Description

We are looking for a long-term substitute social worker or guidance counselor to join our counseling department beginning on or about November 16, 2026, through approximately May 3, 2027.

Qualifications and Assets

• Valid New York State Social Work or School Guidance Counselor Certification
• Ability to collaborate with other school and community professionals
• Have expertise in developing and maintaining positive working relationships with families.
• Provide counseling when appropriate
• Provide staff with information to better understand factors affecting student's behaviors, and performance
• Expert knowledge in research-based instructional strategies for students with social/emotional needs
• Be an active member of the crisis intervention team/TIG
• Participate in and provide professional development based on therapeutic crisis intervention (TCI)
• Perform other duties as directed by the Director of Pupil Personnel
