Water Treatment Plant Operator IV

City of Staunton Public Works Department is seeking applicants to join its team as a Water Treatment Plant Operator. Successful candidate operates water treatment plant equipment such as pumps, control panels, chemical feeders, filters, repairs and adjusts equipment, maintains properties, records reading of gauges, tanks and meters, dispatches emergency services for public works activities. Preferred Qualifications: Consideration will be given to a trainee with ability to obtain license within 18 months of hire. + 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays
• Requirements:
• HS Diploma/GED/Equivalent Training
• Ability to keep records, prepare accurate reports and perform mathematical computations
• Experience in mechanical systems
• Valid VA Waterworks License
• Salary: $19.43-$20.00/hour, doq/e (+)
